Our Story

Fetch a Friend began in 2019 when our founder, Amy Kemp, and her family moved to The Woodlands, TX. After years of military life and frequent relocations, this new chapter brought the opportunity to truly plant roots and become part of a community.

Amy quickly immersed herself in local life. She began fostering dogs and kittens through the Montgomery County Animal Shelter and dedicated her time to volunteering at her daughter’s school, serving on the PTO executive board for four years. Through fostering and volunteering, she discovered just how meaningful and rewarding pet care could be.

What started as opening her home to foster pets soon grew into something more. Amy realized she could combine her love for animals, her dedication to service, and her desire to help families into a professional pet sitting business built on trust and compassion.

As Fetch a Friend continued to grow, Amy partnered with Drea Gold to take the business to the next level. Together, they expanded services, streamlined booking and payment options, and created an even more reliable and professional experience for local pet parents.

Today, Fetch a Friend proudly serves The Woodlands community with loving, dependable in-home pet care — treating every pet like family.

I’ve always believed pets are family. They comfort us, celebrate with us, and love us unconditionally. That’s why I created Fetch a Friend — to give local families a reliable, trustworthy option for in-home pet care that feels personal and compassionate.

Whether I’m caring for a senior dog who needs medication, a playful puppy learning routines, or a family’s beloved companion while they travel, I treat every pet like my own.
